Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The primary responsibilities of the Supplier Quality Manager are to oversee and lead the overall supplier quality assurance functions for all supplier manufacturers, including quality, regulatory, safety, and compliance. In addition, the Supplier Quality Manger will track supplier performance according to established metrics.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ü  Shall adhere to all safety, health and environmental procedures, policies and practices, and ensures that all equipment is in safe operating condition and meets or exceeds OSHA Standards.


ü  Comply with all QMS / EMS procedures and work instructions as it pertains to the position description.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  1. Selection, development, and management of the suppliers and outside processors.  Ensures that selected suppliers have clearly established objectives and performance expectations. 
  2. Develop quality policies, procedures, and quality system development.
  3. Work closely with the respective functional areas to develop product specification quality requirements critical to quality metrics. Collaborates to resolve deviations from established specifications and quality standards.
  4. Benchmark world-class suppliers to assist the present supply base and identify future suppliers.
  5. Develop metric goals annually and drive adherence.
  6. Plans, executes, and follows up on supplier assessments.  
  7. Manages supplier launch readiness and PPAP approvals for assigned suppliers.
  8. Facilitates approval of boundary samples for appearance items not documented within the appearance specification.
  9. Primary contact for organization regarding performance of supplier on new program launches (does not include commercial issues).
  10. Manages continuous improvement initiatives with supplier organizations.
  11. Onsite representative with scheduled visitation.  This may require full time visitation.
  12. Provide assessments and insight to the Purchasing department regarding the approved alternative suppliers within specific commodities. 
  13. Perform regular supplier quality system audits.
  14. Performs all other functions as required; included are any work assignments relating to the efficient flow of work within JAC Products Inc.

Job Requirements

PREFERRED EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Note:       Possession of a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required for all new hires in all positions. 


  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering
  • ASQ, CQA or CQE Preferred
  • Six Sigma Green or Black belt

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience dealing with product quality / supplier quality management
  • Operations / Manufacturing Experience
  • Automotive Industry
