Quality Manger

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Shall adhere to all safety, health and environmental procedures, policies and practices, and ensures that all equipment is in safe operating condition and meets or exceeds MIOSHA/OSHA Standards

  • Comply with all ISO/TS 16949 & ISO-14001 procedures and work instructions as it pertains to the BU Leader position description



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required



  • Assumes the primary role overseeing all quality activities at the Franklin Manufacturing facility

  • Assumes the primary role in selection, training development and supervision of the Quality staff. Shares responsibility with the BUL’s for Quality Engineers

  • Develops and maintains a quality assurance program to ensure conformity of purchased material and final manufactured products

  • Meets with vendors, customers, representatives, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems and to ensure corrective action is taken

  • Prepares for and represents JAC Products during all related audits
    a. Internal Audits
    i. TS 16949 ii. Launch
    b. External TS 16949
    c. Customer visits

  • Utilizes employee involvement teams where applicable.

  • Acts as Customer Representative for JAC Products Inc. relevant to quality issues.

  • Performs all other functions as required; included are any work assignments relating to the efficient flow of work within JAC Products Inc.

  • Maintains Management Review minutes

  • Monitors and reports out Fast Response Matrix to staff

  • Coordinator for approvals of document control to Corporate Quality

  • Coordinate Plant Metrics for Quality

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Maintain a team-oriented working environment that allows for individual differences and provides for individual growth.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies and procedure manuals and operating instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Strong understanding of Statistical Process Control
  • Knowledge of Zeiss CMM (Calypso) software and layout reports (GD&T)
  • Basic computer skills, including P.C. knowledge, current technology software, and MS Office
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
  • Leadership/Management/Motivation skills
  • Problem Solving Capabilities – mechanical and numerical utilizing tools (8D, 5Y, fishbone, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of injection molding machinery, including secondary fixtures.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Concepts and Principles: Toyota Production System.
  • This position works with minimal supervision, this position also concerns itself with confidential company documents while demanding a high level of attention given to all areas of supervisory responsibility.

PREFERRED EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Note: Possession of a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required for all new hires in all positions.

  • Bachelor Degree in Quality Systems Management or equivalent
  • Preferred Master’s Degree in Business or Engineering discipline
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience in quality, manufacturing and industrial engineering
  • Three (3) years in a Management role
  • Black Belt in Six Sigma
