Job Description


SUMMARY OF POSITION:



 



Responsible for developing and maintaining a quality system to assure that all products produced at the Shelby Rollform facility meets or exceeds our customer specifications. 



 



PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.



 





  • Shall adhere to all safety, health and environmental procedures, policies and practices, and ensures that all equipment is in safe operating condition and meets or exceeds OSHA Standards.


     




  • Comply with all QMS / EMS procedures and work instructions as it pertains to the position description.





 



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:



 




  1. Assumes the primary role overseeing all quality activities at Shelby Rollform, including selection, development and supervision of the quality staff.                

  2. Develop and maintain internal, customer, and supplier satisfaction indexes, including number of customer concerns, PPM and scrap reporting.                                                                                

  3. Investigate customer concerns both internal and external and responds with the proper corrective action within the required timeframe.

  4. Represents Shelby as the Management Representative during all quality audits, including internal reviews.

  5. Coordinates and approves all sample submissions of new product and engineering changes.              

  6. Receive change notices for prints and BOM's.  Copy Rollform prints and insure latest revision is in production file.

  7. Utilizes employee involvement teams where applicable.

  8. Customer contact in concerns of quality matters.

  9. Insure rollform participation in the JAC Product Development System.

  10. Insure JAC Operating System measurable targets are achieved.  Direct responsibility for scrap, re-work, and Customer Concerns.  Indirect responsibility for rejects.

  11. Serve as the TS16949 representative.                                        

  12. Promotes daily housekeeping and work place organization.                                                              

  13. Performs all other functions as required; included are any work assignments relating to the efficient flow of work within JAC Products Inc.



 


Job Requirements


SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies and procedure manuals and operating instructions.

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral                                                       

  • PPAP and TS16949 knowledge                                                                                                

  • Basic computer skills                                                                                   

  • Able to use metrology tools and read blue prints                                                                                



 



PREFERRED EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:



Note:         Possession of a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required for all new hires in all positions. 



 




  • Bachelor Degree in related field preferred

  • ASQC Certified Engineer or Manager                           



 



PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:



 




  • Three (3) to five (5) years experience in a quality field.

  • Knowledge of Rollforming, metalworking, stamping and Assembly     

  • Excellent attendance record

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to work well with people/team player
