TITLE: Program Manager
REPORTS TO: Director of Program Management


STATUS:Salary - Exempt

We are currently recruiting for a Program Manager to join our team in Saline, MI.  This position is responsible for the on-time and on-budget launch of  new products and engineering changes for assigned products and customers including the successful start-of-production - meeting production volumes, and quality and delivery requirements. 




  • Excellent leadership skills: problem solving, negotiating, crucial conversations, effective meeting strategies, time management, etc.
  • Strong communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies and procedure manuals and operating instructions.
  • Solid understanding of timeline management
  • Working knowledge of project accounting
  • Strong computer skills : MS Excel, Project, Word, Power Point, Outlook, etc.
  • Knowledge of advanced product quality planning (APQP)
  • Must be customer focused and have excellent follow through in managing projects
  • Applications software knowledge (spreadsheet and database)
  • Understanding and working knowledge of OEM customer specific requirements



  1. Direct and coordinate organizational resources (internal staff, suppliers, etc.) to effectively execute the JPDS (JAC Products Development Program) with respect to new product launches and engineering changes. Ensure timely completion of all deliverable for each “gate”.
  2. Establish and “own” the monitor program timelines, open issues matrices, budgets and advanced program quality planning status sheets
  3. Manage new products and engineering changes for assigned products and customers to assure on-time and on budget launches via the establishment and monitoring of program timelines, open issues matrices, budgets and advanced program quality planning status sheets.
  4. Lead new program APQP, and open issues meetings utilizing the appropriate QMS procedures and work instructions.
  5. Monitor and assess supplier performance in the launch process and take corrective action as necessary, through the proper company resources
  6. Monitor and assess plant launch team activities to ensure on-time readiness for “start-of-production
  7. Track Tooling, Capital, and Piece Price impact of program launch activities taking action as necessary to achieve targeted levels of spending and revenue.
  8.  Prepare Purchase Orders for Tooling and Capital and monitor the related financial status of the launch with each new P.O. issued.

Job Requirements


  •         4 year engineering degree or equivalent work experience




  • 3 - 5 years sales or engineering management experience
  • 2 – 5 years’ experience in the automotive program management
  • Program Management Professional (PMP)
