Job Description


The Project Engineer will be responsible for the effective management of the program launch process from concept to delivery through effective communication and coordination of our JAC operations and our customers. 


To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

ü  Shall adhere to all safety, health and environmental procedures, policies and practices, and ensures that all equipment is in safe operating condition and meets or exceeds OSHA Standards.

ü  Comply with all QMS / EMS procedures and work instructions as it pertains to the position description.


  1. Full understanding and working knowledge of the disciplines required to manage and launch a program from concept to delivery.
  2. Coordinate program design with Program Managers.  Including on-site visits to customers’ manufacturing facilities when necessary.
  3. Assist in reviewing designs to assure all manufacturing tolerances have been accounted for in any engineering change or newly created design.
  4. Assure Bill of Material and all detail and assembly drawings are of a level to support each build phase.
  5. Review and create Design Verification Plan based on design, product & program requirements.
  6. Create, review and update Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis through life of program with Program Launch Team.
  7. Ensure all Engineering Changes are processed and implemented in a timely manner.
  8. Complete Advanced Product Quality Planning elements for design and engineering.
  9. Communicate status of engineering, tooling and gauging changes to launch team.       
  10. Implement engineering and manufacturing systems and assist in creating new systems that will reduce product lead time to our customers.
  11. Lead engineering meetings with customer or internally when Program Manager is absent.
  12. Give written and oral presentation to upper management on program status when Program Manager is absent.
  13. Responsible for leading VA/VE process with a cross-functional team.
  14. Performs all other functions as required; included are any work assignments relating to the efficient flow of work within JAC Products Inc.

  • Applications software knowledge (spreadsheet and database)
  • Understanding of TS 16949 requirements
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Sketching ability
  • Mechanical aptitude

Job Requirements


Note:       Possession of a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required for all new hires in all positions. 

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Auto Industry   
  • Manage launch process at the OEM level
  • Working knowledge of DFMEA’s and DVP’s
  • Understanding of APQP
  • Working knowledge of VA/VE process
