Job Description


The Continuous Improvement Supervisor will be responsible to drive process improvement activities to achieve continuous improvement in the key business metrics of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development/fulfillment.

  • Shall adhere to all safety, health and environmental procedures, policies and practices, and ensures that all equipment is in safe operating condition and meets or exceeds OSHA Standards, and ensure that work is done safely and efficiently.


  • Comply with all QMS / EMS procedures and work instructions as it pertains to the position description.





  1. Serve as the champion to link the production team to the continuous improvement strategy.


  2. Champion Employee Involvement.  Achieve targets as outlined in the Manufacturing Cadence.  Deploy CI Methodologies and facilitate kaizen events.


  3. Ensure projects supporting model cell implementation progress with projected timelines.


  4. Participate, facilitate, and or champion as needed, projects to aid the achievement of World Class Cells.


  1. Serve as the 5S Champion and facilitate activity to achieve goals and objectives of the Business Unit.


  2. Perform activities that support World Class Cells; not limited and up to including, kan-ban systems, material conveyance, audits, continuing education, and waste reduction.


  3. Performs all other functions as required; included are any work assignments relating to the efficient flow of work within JAC Products.






Job Requirements



  • Maintain a team-oriented working environment that allows for individual differences and provides for individual growth

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, policies and procedure manuals and operating instructions

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

  • Ability to write detailed reports, analysis and correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of senior managers, customers and suppliers.

  • Proficient in MS Office software (ie: PowerPoint, Project, Word, and Excel) and Lotus notes.

  • Must have solid leadership skills.

  • Must have superb organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication skills - both written and oral.

  • Strong communication, self-starting, and follow through.



    Note:         Possession of a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required for all new hires in all positions. 


  • Degree in an Engineering related field, statistics, or Business Management, preferred, or equivalent job-related work experience.

  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, preferred.




  • Five or more years of demonstrated, relevant, progressive work experience with proven capabilities in technical discipline, preferably in a Tier 1 or 2 automotive parts manufacturing environment.

  • Trained and experienced in Lean manufacturing concepts and kaizen events.

  • Ability to regularly sit for extended periods of time.

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to work on a personal computer, monitor data, initiate actions through email or phone.

  • Incumbents are frequently required to walk moderate distances through the production facility and around the shipping/receiving dock.

  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds, and occasionally lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to vibration, repetitive motion, bending, lifting, twisting, crouching, reaching, pushing and/or pulling and high temperatures.

  • Ability to control emotions under various levels of pressures, stress, and fast paced activities

  • Ability to travel (air and ground)
