JAC Products, a leading Global Tier 1 Automotive Supplier, is seeking a Test & Prototype Technician to join our fast-paced, growing team in Pontiac, MI! The Test & Prototype Technician performs testing and makes sample parts according to customer requirements. 

 

Your Contributions:

  • Identify cost savings projects through ongoing Value Analysis; follows VA/VE ideas and implementation through to release.
  • Achieve reliable test results by properly setting up test on vehicles and test fixtures.
  • Operate 4-poster in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Fabricate, weld and assemble small test fixtures.
  • Record all test results and distribute to proper personnel.
  • Prepare test results for Project Engineers.
  • Make sample parts for customer presentations.
  • Perform building maintenance and ensure warehouse cleanliness and organization.
  • Deliver parts and pick up roofs to/from customer and supplier locations, as needed.

Job Requirements

What You Need:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Knowledge in safety using power machinery (milling machine, sander, drill press, band/table saws, etc.)
  • Experience operating a forklift truck; must be able to pass forklift truck license test.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand dimensions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies and procedure manuals and operating instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, subtraction).
  • Ability to make quality sample parts for customer review.
  • Collaboration; maintains team-oriented environment, allowing for individual differences and growth.
  • Basic computer skills; excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to prioritize.
